You need to evaluate your time, energy, and environment to be your most productive.

This is what I do at the end of every week. I see what went well and what didn’t. I see what wasted my time or energy. Or what gave me energy in the right environment.

I learn to be more efficient. But it’s only after I start asking myself the same questions every week.

I created three questions that helped me evaluate and improve my productivity every week.

1. What took away my time this week?

Distractions happen to everyone.

Learning to minimize distractions is key. For instance, putting your phone in another room while you work. Or going to the library to work in a quieter environment always helps me.

This question makes me accountable.

I list what took the most time away from my work. I assess why. And how I can improve on it.

2. What gave me the most value this week?

Not everything you work on is valuable.
