Writing is easy.

Writing well is the hard part.

Learning to write well requires clarity of thought, organization of ideas, and something to get you started as a writer.

That’s why I always recommend these frameworks to guide your writing journey.

How-to Articles

How to articles are about what your past experiences taught you.

For example, I’ve worked as a copywriter for seven years at agencies and as a freelancer. I’ve learned how to write copy that’s good (and bad). I’ve learned lessons that I can share with readers.

You can write how-to articles about something you learned. It could be something you experimented with a month ago or a year ago.

The key with any headline is to be specific, especially if it’s a how-to headline. You want to answer something you know and something your readers want to find out.

Here’s my favorite way to start a how-to article:

  • How to headline (specific outcome)
  • Describe a problem I experienced (introduction)
  • Outline your headers of how you solved…
