4 Questions I Ask About My Writing
The right questions unlock the right answers.
I like to write questions as I’m writing on a topic.
It’s like finding the next puzzle piece of a 500-word puzzle instead of wondering what pieces go together before you start working on it.
In other words, doing the work forces you to ask the right questions about your writing. You have to do the work to understand the context of the questions.
1. Do I Care About What I’m Writing?
Whenever I start writing on a topic, I soon find out how much I care about it. I either spend agonizing minutes over every word, sentence, and paragraph. Or I spend seconds letting every word form like a rubrics cube coming together effortlessly. There’s no hesitation. There’s no pause.
The difference is that I care a lot about what I’m writing. The topic energizes me. I love writing every part of it. And that forces me to write faster and edit slower.
I want people to understand and care as much as I do about what I’m saying.
