I’ve spent the last year figuring out LinkedIn.

I’ve written hundreds of posts trying to figure it out. I don’t think I’ve mastered it, but I have learned a lot about the platform. I know that readers are always scanning posts. I know it can take time to build an audience.

I also know how to use copywriting to make my LI posts clearer. I’ve experimented with a lot of different posts. And I’ve found what works for me.

Take these copywriting principles and apply them to your LinkedIn posts.

The 1–3–1 Method

The 1–3–1 method is when you:

  1. Write a hook sentence
  2. Explain it in three bullet points
  3. Have a concluding sentence
