5 Ways I Market Myself and So Can You
Become known for something.
Nobody cares what you do. They care what you can do for them.
That’s what I’ve built my freelance marketing strategy on.
In 2019, I jumped into full-time freelancing after three attempts to enter nursing school. I had no idea what I was doing as a freelancer. I had no idea how to market myself — find clients, get paid, and become known for something.
I crashed and burned in my first go around as a freelancer. So I took a full-time job as a copywriter at a marketing agency. Learned everything about marketing while continuing to side hustle.
Then I jumped back into full-time freelancing in 2022 with a new marketing strategy.
Below are the five ways I’ve learned to market myself.
1. LinkedIn posting and engaging
For the past two months, I’ve posted on LinkedIn.
My LinkedIn strategy:
- Post twice in the morning on Monday - Friday at 7:00 am and 10:00 am.
- Post on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 am
- Use Buffer to schedule posts.
- Engage for 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon by commenting on other posts.
