The startup world is awesome and chaotic.

I’ve experienced both as a freelance copywriter and as an in-house copywriter.

What I’ve learned is that while the startup is a chaotic world, it’s also an exhilarating ride. You learn so much.

In the five years I’ve worked with startups, here are the most important lessons I’ve learned.

You Have to Be Flexible

When you enter the startup world, you can’t just stay in your lane.

You need to be willing to come up with ideas. Fix problems. Adjust to problems.

The people who work in the best startups are always looking out for each other. They want to help each other succeed.

While I’ve worked as a copywriter at startups, I’ve also helped out with marketing, writing, and sales.

Always Prepare for the Unexpected

Startups fail every day.

Funds get cut. Your CEO resigns. You’re assigned something that was due yesterday. Chaos ensues.
