Writing every day is like exercising.

The more you do it, the stronger you become. However, like going to the gym, you can’t pick up random weights, do sprints, and expect to be in the best shape of your life. Getting in shape (and staying in shape) requires daily exercise and a healthy diet.

If you want to become a better writer, you need to exercise your writing muscle. You to develop certain writing habits that improve every area of your writing.

Here are 7 ways to become a better writer.

1. Read your favorite authors

Everyone says to read if you want to become a better writer.

I say read your favorite authors and books. When you do this, you remember what you love to read. You remember why you fell in love with reading and even inspired you to write.

I think the more you read about everything, the more knowledgeable you become. I believe it’s important to read your favorite authors and books (and reread them) because they made you passionate about reading in the first place.

2. Study your favorite creators
