Parenting is 90% of my life.

I would be remiss never to mention my lovely wife — one of the best things to ever happen in my life. She raises our kids when I’m working. She has the hardest job in the world as a stay-at-home mom.

Since I work from home, I also get to enjoy seeing the kids every day. I get to take them to school. But working from home isn’t always easy. There’s chaos. There are fights. There are lots and lots of disruptions.

But that’s why I believe in the power of routines. It makes writing from home a bit easier, especially if you’re a parent.

1. Commit to at Least 30 Minutes a Day

Writing for 30 minutes allows you to write and publish something between 2–3 minutes long.

You don’t have to check the word count. Just write about what you know. Set a timer for 30 minutes and write. Don’t think about it.

Whenever I do this, I get so much done. Because it forces me to write something. I have a deadline.
