Inconsistency ruled my life before 2022.

As a freelancer, I was inconsistent with my systems and processes. As a writer, I tried to write an article about once a month. I lost motivation because I didn’t see results.

2022 was the year I changed my entire system. I hit a wall with two full-time jobs and wanted to be a full-time freelancer again. I wanted to stop guessing everything.

So I committed to the process. I committed to being 1% better every day.

Here’s the mindset you need to succeed as a writer.

Have a mindset of slow and steady consistency

Consistency is everything because everything compounds.

Writing an article every day for a week on Medium may not do much for you. But writing an article every day on Medium for a year can do much more.

Consistency isn’t about a race to the finish line. Focus on slow and steady consistency that builds your process. It’s better to be slow and get it right than be fast and sacrifice quality.

Everything is a learning curve. There will be days you feel like giving up as a writer.
