How Freelancers Should Market Themselves

Send cold emails. Write LinkedIn posts. Write a Medium article. Breakdown an advertisement. Connect with founders on LinkedIn.
Drink coffee. Repeat.
Marketing yourself as a freelancer is an endless cycle. Some freelancers complain they haven’t found clients after:
- 1 month of freelancing
- 3 cold emails sent
- 1 published article
It’s a bit tougher than that, at least for me.
Here’s what I’ve discovered about marketing yourself as a freelancer.
Be Consistent In Your Approach
Consistency is powerful.
You don’t have to be the best to find clients. You just have to be willing to work harder than everyone else.
That’s my approach. Do as much as you can and do that every day.
When I started freelancing, I found a client for $3k and let my foot off the gas. Big mistake. That client ended up not needing me, and I was stuck trying to find new clients fast.
