How I Went Viral On LinkedIn

A 3-minute case study on how I did it.

My most viral post on LinkedIn.

I’ve posted on LinkedIn seven days a week for over two months.

I’ve experimented with different posts — personal stories, thought-leadership posts, and polarizing ideas. My philosophy is to throw ideas on the internet and see what sticks. It’s a game, and I love playing it.

Just recently, I hit a bonus level. I went viral on the most unexpected LinkedIn post, which you can see here or in the image above.

Here’s why I believe I went viral.

What you least expect will often get the most attention

I wasn’t expecting a quote to go viral. I just liked the quote and wanted to share it. In fact, I’ll take you through my step-by-step process for coming up with this post.

I noticed folks on LinkedIn will sometimes post a quote on LinkedIn. But few people put it in Canva. It looks a lot nicer on Canva, and it stands out.

I also follow James Clear on Twitter, where he shares his top tweets. So I took my favorite James Clear tweet and put it in Canva.

I told people how I felt about uncertainty. And then I let the quote say the rest.
