I believe there’s an angle to everything you write.

Sure, slap a framework on everything you write. But that’s not the angle I’m talking about. I’m talking about inserting your voice, personality, and inner soul into your writing.

This is how I like to do it.

Find Your Favorite Articles, Essays, and Clips

I love rereading my favorite Bill Simmons, Malcom Gladwell, and Neil Gaiman articles. I also look at Saturday Night Live clips on YouTube.

Finding the right angle is about finding the right inspiration. Look at how others pursue creative work.

Simmons has weird theories on sports, Gladwell has thoughtful writing, and Gaiman has wacky stories. Saturday Night Live has episodes that miss the mark, but they air it anyway. The key thing is that they keep trying new ideas.

If you want to find the right angle, you have to look for the right creative work. Find something that inspires you to do your best work.
