The Underrated Power of Sharing Your Work

Sharing my copywriting work opens up new opportunities

An example of what I regularly share on social media and my newsletter.

6 months ago, I was scared to share my copywriting work online.

Like most freelancers, I was afraid of what people would think. “That’s not right. It sucks. You’re no good.” This is the fear of posting something on social media. We’re all afraid of we will be judged for it. Or worse, nobody will engage with what we say.

Only 1% of LinkedIn users post something. A few months ago, I wanted to be part of that 1%. I wanted to share my copywriting work.

So I did.

This is what happened.

I Overcome My Fear of Sharing

I overcome my fear of sharing my copywriting by consistently sharing. The more I shared, the more confident I became.

I also realized that:

  • Nobody is going to come after you
  • Nobody is going to say you’re wrong

The key to overcoming your fear of sharing it is to do it repeatedly. Be great at it. Keep showing up.

If you’re a freelance designer, share your design work. If you’re a freelance writer, share a breakdown of an article.
