Writing is the best way to express yourself.

It has a high return on life. But what kind of writing? Should you just free-write for 30 minutes each day? What form of writing has the highest return on life?

The more I write, the more I realize that you need a mindset and a routine to get the most out of your writing.

Here’s writing that has the highest return on life.

Write with no regard for perfection

Nobody has perfect writing.

Not Hemmingway. Not Twain. Not anybody. Nobody has perfect writing because it’s subjective to the reader.

When you write with no regard for perfection, you write for yourself. You learn to express yourself without caring if it’s perfect.

Write something small every day

There’s no law that says you have to write a certain number of words.

If you want to express yourself and practice writing, start with something small. It’s the best way to get started.

Write when you don’t feel like it
